How much does ICDL certification cost in Abomey-Calavi, Bénin?
The ICDL Standard bundle of 6 modules costs 450 000 CFA francs (XOF). Taken individually, a module costs 75 000 CFA — so the bundle is the cheaper route as soon as you intend to sit all 6. On top of the module price, each certification exam costs 20 USD, billed separately because it is paid to the ICDL Foundation, which issues the certificate. Two complementary modules, Data Protection and AI Essentials, are available outside the Standard bundle at the same unit price. There is no registration fee beyond that, and no subscription: you pay for the modules you take.
Where do you sit the ICDL exam?
At our accredited test centre in Abomey-Calavi, Bénin. URBAN TECHNOLOGY is an ICDL Africa accredited test centre, which means the exams are administered here, under the conditions set by the ICDL Foundation, and that the results feed directly into the official system. The tests run on the Skillsbox platform. The exam is taken on a computer, module by module: you can spread them over time rather than sitting all 6 in one go. The certificate is issued by the ICDL Foundation, not by us — passing the exam is what triggers it. It is recognised in 100 countries, with more than 17 million candidates certified worldwide.
How many modules are needed for the ICDL Standard certificate?
6 modules, for a single certificate, from the age of 14. They cover what employability and day-to-day productivity actually require: using a computer and working online safely, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and the essentials of online collaboration and security. Two further modules — Data Protection and AI Essentials — sit outside the Standard bundle and are taken separately, for anyone who needs to go further on those two subjects specifically. Other ICDL programmes exist for other audiences: ICDL Digital Student for under-15s, and ICDL Professional for specialised modules.
