Terms and conditions of sale

Purpose and scope

These terms govern every sale concluded on urban-technology.net between URBAN TECHNOLOGY SARL, Bidossessi, BP 2943, Abomey-Calavi, Bénin (« URBAN TECHNOLOGY ») and any customer, whether an individual or a company. Placing an order implies full acceptance of these terms, in the version online on the day of the order.

Services offered

• ICDL certification: registration for a session at the accredited test centre, exam administration and issuance of the certificate.
• Online courses: individual access to a pre-recorded video course, self-paced, with an optional ICDL certification.
• Corporate training: AI and digital skills programmes delivered on request, governed by a specific quotation.

Prices

Prices are shown on the pages of the corresponding offers, in CFA francs (XOF) unless otherwise stated. The prices in force are those displayed at the moment the order is placed.

Order and payment

The order is placed online. Payment is handled by a licensed payment provider: depending on the method you choose, you either confirm a request pushed to your handset with your mobile money PIN, or complete the payment on the provider's secure page. Card and electronic wallet payments are also accepted. We never see or store your card details.

The order becomes firm once the payment is confirmed by the operator. As long as the payment is pending, the registration is held but not confirmed. A confirmation email is sent as soon as the payment is validated.

The ICDL exam fee, expressed in US dollars, is invoiced separately from course access; it is due to take the certification exam and is not included in the price of the online course alone.

Access to the service

For an online course, access is granted as soon as the payment is confirmed, through a personal signed link sent by email. This link is strictly personal: sharing it may lead to access being revoked without refund.

Course progression is enforced: a lesson must be substantially watched before the next one unlocks. This ordering guarantees that the certification actually reflects the knowledge acquired.

For a classroom session, the venue, dates and times are notified when the registration is confirmed. Seats are limited; registrations are recorded in order of confirmed payment.

Cancellation, postponement and refunds

Should URBAN TECHNOLOGY cancel or postpone a session, the customer is offered either a place in the next session or a full refund of the amounts paid for that session.

Certification

The ICDL certificate is issued by the ICDL Foundation, not by URBAN TECHNOLOGY, which acts as an accredited test centre. Passing the exam conditions the issuance of the certificate; neither registration nor completion of the course guarantees it.

Liability

URBAN TECHNOLOGY is bound by an obligation of means. Its liability cannot be engaged for an interruption attributable to the customer's internet access, to their equipment, or to a case of force majeure. In any event, liability is limited to the amounts actually paid for the service concerned.

Personal data

The processing of personal data related to an order is described in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.

Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Bénin. Any dispute shall first be the subject of an attempt at amicable settlement, by writing to [email protected]. Failing agreement, the competent courts are those of the registered office.
