Data controller

The controller of the processing described below is URBAN TECHNOLOGY SARL, Bidossessi, BP 2943, Abomey-Calavi, Bénin. Any request relating to your personal data can be sent to [email protected].

Data we collect and why

We only collect data that you provide yourself, for a purpose stated at the point of collection. We do not buy contact lists and we do not sell your data.

• Contact and quotation forms — surname, first name, email, phone, message. Purpose: answering your request. Legal basis: your request, prior to a contract.
• Training registration — identity, email, phone, chosen session. Purpose: managing your registration, convening you to the exam, issuing the certificate. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
• Online course purchase — identity, email, phone, purchase and progress within the lessons. Purpose: giving you access to the course and tracking completion. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
• Payment — amount, reference, status and the mobile money number entered on the payment page. The number is processed by the payment provider; we never store card details.
• Downloading a gated ebook — email address. Purpose: sending you the file and, if you agreed, our publications. Legal basis: consent.

Recipients

Your data is accessible to the authorised staff of URBAN TECHNOLOGY, and is transmitted to the following processors, each for a single purpose:

• Brevo (Sendinblue, France) — sending transactional emails and managing the contact list.
• Our payment provider (currently FedaPay, a payment institution established in Benin) — processing mobile money and card payments.
• DigitalOcean (United States) — hosting the website, the database and the files.
• ICDL Foundation / Skillsbox — administering the certification exams, for candidates only.
• Meta (Ireland) — advertising measurement, only if you accepted tracking and only on the pages carrying the Meta Pixel.

Retention periods

• Contact requests and leads not converted: 3 years from the last contact.
• Registrations, purchases and certification records: for the legal retention period applicable to accounting and certification records.
• Mailing list: until you unsubscribe, which is possible from every email we send.

Cookies

This website sets a strictly necessary cookie to remember your language choice (NEXT_LOCALE) and, on the admin area, a session cookie for authentication. Neither requires consent.

On the pages of an advertising campaign, the Meta Pixel may be loaded for measurement purposes. It is only active when the corresponding configuration is present; no advertising tracker is loaded otherwise.

Security

Traffic is encrypted end to end (HTTPS with HSTS). Passwords are hashed, never stored in clear. Access to the administration area is restricted and authenticated. Course files and ebooks are served through signed, time-limited links rather than public URLs.

Your rights

You may access, correct, delete or port your data, object to its processing or ask that it be restricted. Write to [email protected]; we answer within thirty days. You may be asked to prove your identity when the request concerns sensitive data.
